Healthy at work

axe and logs

The 100 year old grandpa keeps active by cutting logs...every day. What do you do to stay active? Credit: cogdogblog

A while ago I was watching a documentary on one of the super old people in our planet. He was Greek, and was more than 100 years old.

He would wake up every day, take an axe…and cut logs for his fireplace!!! He would do that for almost 2 hours every day!

It was amazing to watch this super old guy use an axe and cut logs! I am in my 20nties but don’t feel confident in doing that, but his in his 100s and does that!

And the amazing thing is that….

HE DOES NOT HAVE TO CUT LOGS FOR HIS FIREPLACE! HE CAN JUST USE MORE MODERN WAYS TO PROVIDE HEAT!

He could just sit around and use gas to warm himself.

Yet, he chooses to use an axe and cut logs…

He chooses to be active.

Since he is already 100+, I think he is a living proof of the value of being active!

I am not suggesting that we should all wake up tomorrow and start cutting logs, but let’s think about how we can make our every-day lives more activity oriented rather than sitting oriented…

Why not get started by improving  our work conditions? After all work is one third of our working years…If we could be healthier at work, we would save lots of years for living longer!

Boost up your energy with a little bit of exercise at work!

Plus,we would have higher energy levels, better posture, and be more productive!
